The Black Knight by Francesca Bianchi is dark, smoky, and unapologetically intense. Inspired by Renaissance captain Giovanni Dalle Bande Nere, it evokes leather armour, campfire smoke, damp earth, and a hint of something unexpectedly tender beneath the surface.

It opens with aromatic artemisia and caraway, quickly warmed by honey and beeswax. The sweetness feels thick and slightly wild rather than sugary, brushing against a smoky leather accord that defines the fragrance’s mood. As it unfolds, iris butter introduces a powdery texture, confirmed by many enthusiasts, but here it is far from delicate. It feels earthy and tactile, blending with narcissus and Bulgarian rose to add depth rather than softness.

Vetiver stands at the heart, dry and commanding, supported by patchouli, oakmoss, and cedarwood. There is a tar-like smokiness at times, balanced by moments of smoothness that almost suggest dark chocolate and warm resin. Francesca Bianchi is a renowned perfumer for her unique approach to creating scents that evoke emotions and memories. Born and raised in Italy, Francesca discovered her passion for perfumes at a young age and pursued a degree in History of Art, specializing in the XXth century.

After completing her studies, Francesca worked in the Art Books Publishing industry and lived in several European cities such as Florence, Berlin, Luxembourg, and Amsterdam. In Amsterdam, Francesca finally decided to pursue her dream of creating her own line of perfumes.

Inspired by the book on natural perfumery, Francesca began studying and experimenting with fragrances. Her artistic vision and deep understanding of ingredients allowed her to create unique and captivating fragrances. Francesca creates each perfume herself in her laboratory, a process that can take between 6 months and four years or more to complete.

Missing, Faulty or Damaged Items:

• Failure to report within the 24-hour window will be interpreted as an acceptance of the goods in their received condition. Damage reported after 24 hours may not be acknowledged for claims.
• To support a claim, customers are expected to provide digital images and a written statement confirming that the items arrived damaged.

Authenticity Guarantee:

•  We guarantee that the product you receive will be authentic. Each perfume sample is hand-produced to order from the manufacturer’s original bottle.
• Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will like it. Fragrance preferences are subjective, and individual experiences may vary.
• Due to the custom nature of our samples, we cannot accept returns or exchanges based on personal preferences.

14-Day Cooling Off Period:

•  We recognise that mistakes happen during ordering. Therefore, we offer a strictly conditional 14-day cooling off period from the date of delivery.
• To be eligible for a return, the product must be unopened, in original condition, and with all packaging intact.
• If the packaging has been opened prior to return, the return will be refused.

Manufacturer Variations:

•  Fragrances are subject to production variations and formula changes by manufacturers. Such variations do not constitute a fault in the product.
